Going Up: Elevating our Teaching through Communities of Learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Teaching well is challenging! Many library staff who teach have limited formal training in pedagogy. Still, we all have a unique set of teaching strengths and experiences that we can share. By creating spaces for library staff to reflect on our teaching experiences and learn from those of our colleagues, we can build expertise and motivate one another to continuously improve our teaching. In this session, we will explore strategies for creating programs that empower library staff to share teaching experiences and learn from each other, including a teaching interest group and a teaching observation program.

Participants will:
  • Recognize the value of fostering communities of learning to support staff development
  • Identify strategies to facilitate peer-learning among library staff
